With over a decade of comprehensive experience in trademark practice, Tara brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field. As an Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Tara developed a deep understanding of both procedural and substantive trademark law. Following her time at the USPTO, Tara transitioned to private practice and used her background to develop her practice in global trademark portfolio management.

Tara guides clients through the critical stages of selecting a mark, providing strategic advice for trademark filing, and implementing innovative strategies that have consistently led to successful outcomes during prosecution and maintenance. Tara is well-versed in handling prosecution and maintenance of large global portfolios and has experience with trademark agreements and pre-litigation enforcement.

Prior to joining Kelly IP, Tara practiced in the trademark and copyright group at a national Am Law 10 law firm. Tara received her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and her B.A. in Government from Georgetown University, where she was a member of the women’s NCAA rowing team.
