Marina Kornaukhova

About

Marina Kornaukhova is passionate about IP law, trademarks in particular, and brings her solid national and international IP experience to the Kelly IP team. She started her legal career overseas in the Russian Patent and Trademark Office where she administered both foreign and domestic correspondence related to patents and trademarks, maintained an effective cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, and drafted proposals for the official position of the Russian delegation to the WIPO Standing Committee on the Law of Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications (SCT). One of her professional achievements is the successful ratification of the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks by Russia in 2010.

In the United States, Marina worked as a Legal Fellow in the International IP Institute where she assisted with international projects involving developing countries (Asia, South America) and performed research of IP laws relating to anti-camcording provisions and specific laws in this area in a number of APEC developing countries. She also worked in law firms in the patent prosecution practice where she assisted attorneys and paralegals with various administrative and legal assignments. As part of her GW practicum course, Marina interned at the Chambers of the Honorable Deborah J. Israel at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Marina mastered in Paralegal Studies from the George Washington University and is excited to join the Kelly IP team as a trademark paralegal. She is looking forward to challenging herself in her new endeavors.
