Marina Kornaukhova

About

Marina Kornaukhova has worked in the field of intellectual property for over a decade with a focus on trademarks. She started her legal career overseas in the Russian Patent and Trademark Office where she administered both foreign and domestic correspondence related to patents and trademarks, liaised with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, and drafted proposals for the official position of the Russian delegation to the WIPO Standing Committee on the Law of Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications (SCT). She personally contributed to the successful ratification of the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks by Russia in 2010.

In the United States, Marina worked as a Legal Fellow in the International IP Institute where she assisted with international projects spurring innovation in developing APEC countries and researched f IP laws relating to anti-camcording provisions. She also worked in law firms where she assisted IP attorneys and paralegals with various administrative and legal assignments.

Marina holds an M.A. in Paralegal Studies from the George Washington University and interned at the Chambers of the Honorable Deborah J. Israel at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
